National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Vijay Sakhare is going to lead a special team of 10 members in the Delhi explosion investigation. A team consisting of one Inspector General (IG), two Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of police, three SPs and four DSPs has taken up the investigation into the explosion that occurred near Delhi's Red Fort on Monday evening. This team is being led by the 1996 batch Kerala cadre IPS officer.

The NIA has taken over all Jaish module cases from Delhi, Haryana and Jammu-Kashmir police. While investigating this Delhi incident, they have so far examined more than 1,000 CCTV footage. Additionally, mobile phone data of suspects from various areas, including their social media activity, has already been collected. Naturally, the question arises: why was Sakhare chosen?
