Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Navi Mumbai on October 8 to inaugurate the much-awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), built at a cost of about ₹19,650 crore, according to an ANI report.

Developed under a Public-Private Partnership, NMIA is India’s largest Greenfield airport project and will handle up to 90 million passengers annually when fully operational. The airport will also feature solar power generation, storage for sustainable aviation fuel, and an Automated People Mover system linking terminals.

Later, PM Modi will inaugurate the final phase of the Mumbai Metro Line-3, stretching from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade. Built at a total cost of over ₹37,000 crore, the fully underground line will connect key business and cultural areas, easing congestion in the city. The Prime Minister will also launch “Mumbai One,” a unified mobility app integrating ticketing and travel information for multiple public transport systems across the region.
