RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has now taken a narrow lead, pulling past BJP candidate Satish Kumar by 219 votes, as per the latest round of counting, according to the EC data of Raghopur.
The race remains close, but the lead has slightly widened, putting the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate on the back foot in Raghopur.
About the constituency
Raghopur, numbered 128 in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, is part of the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency. It is a general seat, not reserved for SC or ST candidates. During the 2020 Assembly elections, the constituency had a total of 3,44,369 voters, including 1,85,106 males, 1,59,258 females, and five third-gender voters. Additionally, 1,097 postal votes were cast, and 1,320 service voters were registered.

This year, Raghopur's main contest featured Tejashwi Yadav from the RJD, Satish Kumar Yadav from the BJP, and Chanchal Kumar of the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP). Tejashwi’s brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, fielded Prem Kumar from his Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD).
The RJD is part of the Mahagathbandhan alliance with the Congress, Left parties, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), while the BJP contests under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alongside partners including the Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
According to initial ECI updates, the BJP candidate has secured around 27,306 votes, signalling a tough challenge for Tejashwi Yadav in a seat long considered his stronghold.
