On Thursday afternoon, at least two people were killed and three others are battling for their lives after a powerful explosion ripped through an illegal firecracker factory in Sarai Barai village, under Tikaitnagar police station limits in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district.
The powerful blast triggered panic among residents as thick smoke engulfed the area. Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours of effort.
Rescue operations are still underway. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed, while the injured have been admitted to the hospital and remain in critical condition.
