U.S. President Donald Trump had put forward a 20-point proposal to Hamas to stop the war in Gaza. Not only that, but Trump had even set a deadline for it. However, before that deadline, Hamas indicated on Friday that it would accept Trump's proposal and sign a peace agreement. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Trump's initiative to restore peace in Gaza. On Saturday morning, Modi posted on his X handle, commending Trump.

PM Modi wrote on his X handle, "We welcome President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress. Indications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward. India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace."

Modi's positive support of Trump is quite significant in international diplomatic circles. Not only did Modi support Trump's initiative, but he also identified the indication of hostage release as a crucial step.

Reuters reported that Hamas announced on Friday that all Israeli hostages would be released. However, Hamas has not yet indicated whether it will agree to the terms of disarmament. Previously, the U.S. President had presented a 20-point proposal to end the war in Gaza.

In a statement, Hamas said they are accepting parts of the peace proposal. Immediately after Hamas's statement, Trump directed Israel to cease attacks on Gaza. Donald Trump also explained why this directive was given. He had stated on Truth Social that Israel must immediately stop bombing Gaza so that the hostages can be safely and quickly released.
