The investigation revealed that a Pakistani intelligence agency operative was working under the identity of a woman named Isha Sharma on social media. Mangat had fallen into her trap. He was also lured with a large sum of money.
According to police sources, the arrested youth's name is Mangat Singh. He allegedly had contact with Pakistani handlers for nearly two years. Rajasthan Police's intelligence agency claims that Mangat regularly provided photographs and military information of Alwar army cantonment and its surrounding areas to the Pakistani intelligence agency.
Since 'Operation Sindoor', the army and police had started surveillance around the country's important military centers. It was during this time that Mangat's activities seemed suspicious. Police began surveillance. Rajasthan Police's intelligence department launched an operation only after obtaining substantial evidence against Mangat.
DIG (Intelligence) Rajesh Meel said, "The accused youth sent photographs and information to Pakistani handlers until his arrest. He regularly called two Pakistani numbers. He also received substantial money for leaking military information. The source of his transactions is being investigated." Mangat has been kept at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur. Investigators are interrogating him. Several important leads have also been obtained.
