Vikramaditya Singh, aged 35, tied the knot with Amreen Sekhon in an Anand Karaj held at a gurdwara in Sector 11, Chandigarh on September 22. The ceremony was a low-key affair, attended by close family and friends, following Sikh rituals. Amreen, the daughter of Jotinder Singh Sekhon and Opinder Kaur of Chandigarh, is known for her academic credentials: she holds double master’s degrees in English and Psychology, a PhD in Psychology, has also studied at Harvard University, and presently teaches as an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Panjab University.
The event marks Singh's second marriage and brings together two individuals from political and academic spheres, each carrying their own legacy and achievements.
Who is Vikramaditya Singh?
Vikramaditya Singh hails from a prominent political family. He is the son of late Virbhadra Singh, a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and Pratibha Singh, former MP. He represents the Shimla Rural constituency and is a minister in the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led state government.
This is his second marriage, as he was previously married in 2019 to Sudarshana Singh Chundawat, with the marriage ending in divorce in 2024. The union with Amreen has drawn attention not only for the personal dimension but for how it intertwines politics, academia, and public service in Himachal Pradesh and beyond.
