Assam's rock star Zubin Garg's death has left his admirers in a state of profound grief. A three-day mourning was observed across the entire state of Assam. The cause of Zubin's demise remains a question.
On Thursday, the police arrested one individual. Amidst this, another heart-wrenching incident unfolded. Overwhelmed by grief at Zubin's passing, one of his devoted fans took a drastic decision.
The fan in question jumps into the Brahmaputra river from Guwahati's Saraighat Bridge. According to witnesses, a young man on the Saraighat Bridge first tore his clothes and began shouting. He was heard saying, 'When Zubin da is no longer here, what shall we do? Joy Zubin da...(Hail Zubin da)' Moments later, the youth plunged into the water.
Police and the State Disaster Response Force rushed to the scene upon receiving the news. A search operation for the individual was initiated. The search extended as far as Sualkuchi Hill. However, reports suggest that no trace of the person has been found.
On Thursday itself, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, the drummer in Zubin's team, was arrested after being interrogated in connection with the investigation into Zubin's death. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) also conducted a search operation at the residence of Zubin Garg's manager, Siddharth Sharma. A cloud of uncertainty still shrouds the circumstances of the singer's demise. Assam's special investigative team is probing into this very matter.
