Angkrish Raghuvanshi was born in 2004 in New Delhi, but later moved to Mumbai to pursue his cricket career. He never looked back from this; he first came into notice in the 2022 U-19 World Cup, where he remained the highest run getter of the season, and then won the IPL with KKR in 2024.
Who will keep for KKR?
Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a major blow after Angkrish Raghuvanshi, their most consistent batter this season, was ruled out of the IPL. The youngster had scored 422 runs, including five fifties in 12 innings, before sustaining a concussion and a fractured finger on his left hand.
His concussion substitute, Tejasvi Dahiya, is expected to continue in the playing XI as KKR’s wicketkeeper. Otherwise, the franchise may have to rely on New Zealand opener Finn Allen to take up wicketkeeping duties, which would allow them to include an additional specialist batter in the lineup.
