However, after another difficult season where the team struggled with form, injuries and an ageing core, speculation has grown over a possible restructuring within the franchise.

The former India captain recently completed his tenure as head coach of the Indian team and remains one of the most respected figures in world cricket because of his calm leadership and ability to develop young talent.
Chennai eye long-term rebuilding project
The report added that Chennai could be preparing for a transition period after relying on experienced players for several seasons. The franchise is believed to be looking at a long-term project focused on rebuilding the squad with younger Indian players while maintaining its strong core culture.
