The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a revision in the schedule for the Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2026. As per the latest official notice, the examination will now be conducted on May 27, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled date of May 28, 2026.
Why this decision?
The decision to advance the examination by a day was taken after the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T) issued an Office Memorandum regarding a change in the holiday date for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakri-eid). SSC stated that the revision was necessary as the earlier examination date coincided with the updated government holiday schedule.

In its notification, the commission explained that the change was made to avoid any inconvenience to candidates and ensure the smooth conduct of the recruitment examination. The SSC GD examination is conducted for recruitment to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Special Security Force (SSF), and Assam Rifles.
Highlighting the reason behind the revised schedule, the commission said the earlier date had to be reconsidered after the government announced modifications in the holiday calendar for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakri-Eid).
Another major update from SSC
Along with the revised exam date, SSC also shared an update regarding admit cards for candidates appearing in the examination. According to the notice, hall tickets will be released 2 to 3 days before the examination date through the candidates’ login module available on the official SSC website.
