Jadavpur University has announced a walk-in interview for the appointment of Guest Faculties in the Department of History. The interview will be conducted on December 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Office of the Head of the Department, Department of History, PG Arts Building (2nd Floor).
Interested candidates are required to report to the venue by 10:30 AM with their CV, all original mark sheets and certificates, along with one set of self-attested photocopies of the relevant documents. Candidates must also carry a valid photo ID proof. It is important to note that no TA/DA will be provided to the interviewees.

The area of specialisation is open, allowing candidates from diverse fields of history to apply.
The essential qualifications follow the UGC and State Government norms, with a minimum requirement of a BA (Hons) and MA in History, along with NET/SET qualification. However, preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD in History, particularly those with research publications and prior teaching experience.

Jadavpur University now has to offer eight vacancies for guest faculty positions. Selected guest faculty will be offered a remuneration of ₹500 per class, and the tenure of engagement will be for one year.
