Durga Puja means staying up late to see the goddess. There's no need to watch the clock. For many, the railway is the lifeline for returning home in the dead of night. Keeping passenger safety in mind, the railway has made special arrangements during the Durga Puja days. There are also special trains at night. Let's delve into the details.

Every day, Sealdah station is packed with people from the Main, South, and North branches. The number of attendees has grown dramatically since Panchami. At the stations of Sealdah, Bidhannagar, Dum Dum, Naihati, and Kalyani, the railway has placed scouts and guides on the platforms. The main responsibilities of this team will be line management, crowd control, and providing pertinent information. Additionally, passengers will be able to access platform-related information, train schedules, and other crucial details at dedicated help desks.

24/7 surveillance will be in place at every rail station. The railway has announced that CCTV monitoring has been increased at crucial locations. RPF members will observe the 'live feed' round the clock. Security forces will be deployed on platforms, foot-over bridges, and other critical areas.

'First Aid' facilities and emergency ambulance services are being arranged at important stations like Sealdah, Bidhannagar, Dum Dum, Naihati, and Kalyani.

A total of 31 special trains will run on the Sealdah North, South, and Main branches from the night of September 27 to the night of October 2. This includes 19 services on the Sealdah Main and North sections, and 12 services on the Sealdah South section.
