Chemtaburu stands silently with its head held high in the Baghmund region. It's the highest peak of the Ayodhya circuit. The height is approximately 714 meters. Though not as towering as the Himalayas, Chemtaburu's beauty is no less impressive. And after the monsoon ends, the Ayodhya hills become even more beautiful.
If you have the desire to walk on mountain paths, that too will be fulfilled at Chemtaburu Hill. You can reach the summit of Chemtaburu by hiking. Though the first 15-20 minutes involve a steep climb, you won't mind climbing the hill in this peaceful environment. When you slowly walk and reach the top of Chemtaburu and see the enchanting view of Ayodhya from there, it's unforgettable. From here, the infinite beauty of Khairabera Dam becomes visible. Trekking to Chemtaburu can take at most two hours.
Save one day for Chemtaburu Hill. Though on the same day, you can also visit Khairabera Dam. Besides this, you can tour other places in the Ayodhya circuit as well. Iron Lake, Muruguma, Lower Dam-Upper Dam, the Chhau mask village Charida, and other places can also be visited alongside Chemtaburu Hill.
You can reach Ayodhya Hills by road from Kolkata. It takes approximately 7-8 hours. You can also reach by train from Howrah. You need to get off at Purulia station. From there, reach Khairabera.
There are resorts right beside Khairabera Dam. Chemtaburu Hill is very close to here. So if the purpose is to trek Chemtaburu Hill, it's better to stay near Khairabera Dam.
