Good food is a celebration within itself, so Bengalis rarely need a festival to enjoy a feast. However, Nutritionists warn, that consuming a lot of well-liked foods can be harmful. While spicy and oily foods like chowmein and rolls are irresistible, they can eventually affect longevity and health.

Processed foods: The hidden risk

Foods to avoid include processed meats like bacon and sausages. Despite being convenient and delicious, these products contain additives and preservatives that gradually damage the body. Frequent use is associated with a higher risk of heart issues and other long-term illnesses.

Instant noodles: Slow to heal, fast to cook

Another popular but dangerous option is instant noodles. They are high in sodium and can cause a number of health issues, including elevated blood pressure. Limiting consumption and choosing homemade substitutes are advised by experts.

Breakfasts made with cereals: Not as healthful as they seem

Though they may appear healthy, breakfast options like muesli and cornflakes are high in sugar, which increases the risk of obesity and diabetes, two serious diseases that shorten life expectancy.

The first step to making healthier decisions is awareness, even though moderation is crucial. Every meal can be made to nourish rather than damage by striking a balance between taste and mindful eating.
