As Durga Puja comes to an end, many have already begun plotting their next escape to the hills. Post-festival pockets often feel light, with savings already spent during the celebrations. So, while the desire to travel remains sky-high, the budget remains tight. But don't worry- here are some beautiful hill destinations where you can enjoy a vacation within just ₹10,000.

Charkhole

If you wish to have a glimpse of the beauty of a Himalayan village, head to Charkhole, a little off Kalimpong. Only 630 km from Kolkata, this site provides a stunning view of the sunrise at Kanchenjunga, orange and cardamom plantations, and peaceful mountain trails. The locals' warmth and hospitality will melt your heart. Stay and food can be arranged within ₹1,000–2,000 per day, and you can even get a discount through online hotel reservations.

Yuksom

A 6–7-hour drive from Jalpaiguri is Yuksom in West Sikkim, a historic town. If you wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of crowded cities and pass time alone amidst nature, this is just the place. The historic Royal Palace, the ancient Dubdi Monastery, and the Norbugang Park offer an ideal 3–4 day outing. You'll be able to find plenty of hotels, homestays, and resorts here in the ₹1,000–2,000 bracket.

Namchi

Located at an elevation of 4,400 feet in South Sikkim district is the town of Namchi, renowned for its beautiful scenery of Kanchenjunga and other snow-capped mountains. You can take a car on rent to visit places such as Samdruptse (Rock Garden), Char Dham (where Kedarnath, Badrinath, Rameshwaram, Dwarka, Gangotri, and other temples' replicas have been constructed), a wonderful 108-feet tall statue of Shiva, Sai Baba temple, and Tarey Bhir viewpoint. Places to stay and eat start from as low as ₹900 here, offering accommodations for varying prices.
