Not just thekua, Chhath Puja also features a special type of laddu: Here's how to make this sweet?

Along with thekua, there is a custom of offering kasar laddu to Suryadev and his sister, Chhatmata. But this laddu is not a motichur or moong laddu bought from a sweet shop.

Various types of sweets are offered during puja. Among them, laddu is prominent. This sweet is also beloved by Ganesha. Moreover, laddu is also offered during Chhath Puja. Alongside thekua, there is a tradition of offering laddu to Suryadev and his sister, Chhath Mata. However, this sweet is not made of motichur or mung dal – there is a special method for making kasar laddu. How to prepare it? Here's the recipe.

What do you need?

Rice flour: 1 cup

Jaggery: Half cup

Ghee: Slightly less than half a cup

Milk: half a cup

Fennel powder: 1 teaspoon

Rock salt: A pinch

How to make it?

First, sift the rice flour well through a sieve.

Now mix the rice flour, ghee, salt, jaggery and fennel powder well in a bowl.

Add milk as needed to make a dough with all the ingredients. Be careful that the dough doesn't become too runny.

Now apply a little ghee on both palms.

Take small portions from the dough and make round kasar laddus.
