London Fashion Week 2025 ending after an exciting week of runway shows featuring renowned and emerging designers. Among the other trends, one trend is making waves among fashion insiders and social media which is fragile fashion. Turkish designer Bora Aksu, who showed his Spring/Summer 2026 collection at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden on September 19, 2025, embraced a fragile, near-tangible atmosphere, using vulnerability into a powerful narrative on the runway.

Fragile fashion celebrates imperfection and strength

For this collection, Aksu was inspired by his collection of broken porcelain dolls. In an interview with Fashionista, he explained, "Broken dolls reminded me that beauty is found in traces of love, time, and survival." His intention was to present that weakness is not fragility but a kind of strength, survival, and love. Models wore multiple layers of lace, sheer fabrics and hand-beaded mesh in pastel soft colors such as powder pinks, soft corals, peaches and muted blues. Tiny details like lace bonnets and intentionally exposed loose threads reinforced the theme that wrinkles are supposed to be a celebration of resilience, not flaws to hide.

A phenomenon that goes beyond the runway

Fragile fashion has developed rapidly from a single aesthetic style into a broader movement. On social media and in the fashion world, the trend showcases delicate materials, pastel colors and handcrafted details. It aligns with a growing cultural focus on self-acceptance, comfort, and embracing human imperfection. As Wonderland Magazine pointed out on Instagram, Bora Aksu's dreamlike SS26 collection demonstrates that fashion can be both beautiful to look at and resonant on an emotional level, communicating stories of vulnerability and resilience.

By combining the delicate craftsmanship with pastel sophistication, Bora Aksu's fragile fashion collection illustrates how contemporary fashion is no longer about making statements or having flawless looks but now it is about celebrating the beauty of imperfection and finding power in sensitivity. This new trend is succeeding in demonstrating how fragility, when adopted, can be both visually compelling and profoundly uplifting.
