For the past two days, the temperature of the city has hovered at 19°C. Being in the sun does not feel that cold, but the skin feels tight. The area around the lips is parched, and the skin on hands and feet even feels rough to the touch. During this part of the year, a thick moisturiser is necessary for skin care. Normal, store-bought moisturisers provide a protective layer on top of the skin, without hydrating it from within. That is why, after a few hours of application, the skin can be dry again. Is it a problem?

Instead of using any ordinary moisturiser or cream, apply ghee. You can even make a cream by yourself with ghee. Ghee contains the necessary fatty acids responsible for skin moisturising. It keeps your skin soft and smooth, acting as a barrier against cold air. It can also be used on chapped lips and rough heels. It also prevents fine lines and gives a glow to your skin. Ghee is rich in vitamins A, D, and E, which help in the reproduction of skin cells. It contains antioxidants that delay the process of premature ageing and help in healing the skin. Even the intake of ghee has these advantages associated with it. During winter, you can even apply ghee-based moisturiser directly to the skin.
How to make ghee moisturiser at home?
Take a jar of pure ghee. Transfer it to a copper bowl and add 2 cups of cold water. Blend it very well in a mixer or blender till the ghee becomes white and attains a creamy texture. Then strain the remaining water and transfer the cream into an airtight container. Your homemade ghee cream is ready.

You can also do this manually: take ghee in a copper plate, mix with cold water, and stir continuously with another copper bowl. Gradually, the ghee will turn into a white, creamy texture. However, doing it by hand requires considerable effort and time, so using a blender is easier.
