Not only plant lovers, but even those who love taking selfies or making reels have a fondness for bougainvillaea. If clusters of bougainvillaea in vibrant red, vermillion, pink, or against a simple white backdrop bloom in such colours, those pictures reach another dimension. When posted on Facebook or Instagram, their appeal multiplies several times over.
Many people think this plant does not survive easily in home pots. However, experts say this notion is completely wrong. With just a few simple care tips, bougainvillaea plants can grow rapidly even in pots. Usually, the abundance of these flowers is seen more in spring. But if you want colourful bougainvillaea to bloom in your spring garden, care must start from now. What aspects should be kept in mind?

1) Apart from soil, bougainvillaea plants need water, sunlight and good compost fertiliser. Mix tea leaves, eggs, and vegetable peels thoroughly with sandy soil. If you want, you can also use cocopeat by reducing the amount of soil. This will make the soil loose. This plant grows well in such soil.
2) Bougainvillaea plants should be kept in places where adequate sunlight is available. If the plant gets at least six hours of strong sunlight throughout the day, it grows quickly. The more sunlight it gets, the brighter its flowers will be.

3) Bougainvillaea absorbs water very quickly. So, it is necessary to water the plant daily. At the same time, care must be taken to ensure that water does not accumulate at the base of the plant.
4) If you prepare the soil with fertiliser beforehand, then there is no worry. Once the plant grows reasonably large, giving mustard cake once a month will suffice. It would also be good if you could loosen the soil occasionally. If air circulation occurs deep in the soil, the plant's health will also improve.
