Dominant wins mark Day 5 of Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2025

Day 5 of the 5th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2025 witnessed commanding victories as All India Police, Services, Food Corporation, CAG, CISF, and Sports Authority of India sealed wins in Jamshedpur.

At the Naval Tata Hockey Academy in Jamshedpur, the All India Police Sports Control Board delivered a powerful 5-1 win over Punjab National Bank in Pool A. Arun Sahani starred with a brace, while Aman Sharma, Haris Mohammad, and Naveen Kumar Tirki added goals. Gursimran Singh scored the lone goal for Punjab National Bank.

In Pool B, the Comptroller & Auditor General of India overcame the Central Reserve Police Force 4-2. Bharath Mahalingappa Kurtakoti and Khanpathan Aamid Sarfaraz scored twice each, while Lovejeet Singh and captain Saroj Ekka found the net for CRPF. These results strengthened both teams’ prospects in the early stages of the championship.

Pool C & D see high-scoring encounters

Pool C featured thrilling contests as Services Sports Control Board edged Central Secretariat 2-1. Tiras K opened the scoring for Central Secretariat, but Sukhnath Guria and Manip Kerketta scored quickly to secure the win. Central Industrial Security Force narrowly defeated Steel Plant Sports Board 5-4 in another close encounter. Yograj Singh scored a brace, supported by goals from Bhima Ekka, Lokesh Bora, and Nithin. Steel Plant’s goals came from Sem Munda, Simon Bodra, and Deepak Soreng.

Pool D saw a dominant 15-2 win for Food Corporation of India against ITBP Central Hockey Team. Laishram Dipu Singh and Nitin scored multiple goals, while Prikshit Panchal, Paramvir Singh, Ritik Kujur, Akhtar Ali, and Munish Rana also contributed. The Sports Authority of India defeated the Central Board of Direct Taxes 3-1, with Mohit Karma, Manish Sahani, and Sachin scoring for SAI. The fifth day of the championship showcased high-intensity hockey, teamwork, and goal-scoring flair, setting the stage for exciting knockout rounds.
