Since morning, the weather has been bright and sunny. After Tuesday's inclement weather, people breathed a sigh of relief seeing clear skies on Thursday morning. But will this relief last long? The common people remain anxious. According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and Myanmar coast. It may intensify into a low-pressure area on Thursday and further into a deep depression by Friday over the north-west and west-central Bay of Bengal. Moving westward, it is likely to make landfall as a deep depression on Saturday along the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coast.
> Thursday (Tritiya): The day will start with intense sunshine. As the day progresses, the sky will become overcast. Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Kolkata and other districts of South Bengal, accompanied by gusty winds at 30–40 km/h.
>Friday (Chaturthi): Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Kolkata and most districts of South Bengal. South 24 Parganas may experience more intense rainfall. Gusty winds at 30-40 km/h are also anticipated.
> Saturday (Panchami): A yellow alert for heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) has been issued for South 24 Parganas, Jhargram, East and West Medinipur. Kolkata and Howrah are forecasted to have thunderstorms with rain. The remaining nine districts of South Bengal will also experience light to moderate rainfall.
> Sunday (Sasthi): Light to moderate rainfall is predicted for every district in South Bengal, including Kolkata. The intensity of rain is expected to be higher in South 24 Parganas and East and West Medinipur. Thunderstorm warnings have been issued. Stormy winds at 40-50 km/h are expected.
> Monday (Saptami): There's a possibility of scattered light to moderate rainfall in South Bengal, albeit for short durations. Occasional sunshine may break through. Discomfort may increase due to water vapor and relative humidity.
> Tuesday (Ashtami): The Anjali ritual is likely to proceed without major disruptions. As the day progresses, the sky will become overcast. Scattered moderate rainfall may occur for short periods.
> Wednesday (Navami): Rainfall is expected to decrease somewhat after noon. However, predictions suggest rain will intensify again from night. In other words, meteorologists advise carrying umbrellas and raincoats for those planning night outings on Navami.
>Thursday (Dashami): Heavy rainfall is forecasted for South Bengal on this day.
Meanwhile, rainfall activity in North Bengal districts may also increase from Friday onwards.
