Metro Rail Kolkata announces its special night-long service during Puja

Durga Puja is near the corner, and Metro Rail Kolkata announces a special night-long metro rail service. The special service will enhance the transportation service vastly, as the road will be mostly crowded. Though the government also published a notification about the road traffic system. The special metro service will commence from Panchami, ie, on 27th October and will continue till 2nd October, ie, Dashami. Here is a detailed timetable.

Special metro services will begin on Panchami (September 27). The metro services will be having increased timings, with the Blue Line providing 262 services. The Green Line will have 225 services, which will be running from early morning till late night, and the peak hour frequencies will be at an interval of 6 minutes. The special night-long services are set for Saptami, Astami, and Navami (September 29, 30, and October 1).

The night-long service will include operations until 4 AM on both Blue and Green Lines to provide pandal hoppers a means of transport to reach destinations comfortably. The Yellow and Purple Lines will also experience notable service boosts, with up to 62 trips daily and 25-minute intervals, therefore catering to festival traffic.

The metro authorities have also introduced unlimited travel Tourist Smart Cards, and recommended that users should use apps for mobile tickets or QR-based paper tickets to skip long queues and booking counters. During peak hours, the officials have urged passengers to avoid congestion on coaches and wait for the next train to provide safety and smooth service operations.
