One of the biggest rivalries in cricket is set to begin from the 19th of October, as the Indian Cricket team will face the new Australia.
Many of the senior players from both teams are making their comebacks, including Rohit, Kohli, and Starc.
Starc, who retired from T20Is a few months ago, is all set to make his comeback in the ODIs. Pat Cummins, who is still recovering from a back issue, remains outside the namelist. Mitchell Marsh will take the leading responsibility in his place. Marsh captained the Kangaroos against the Proteas in August. He has led Australia in 40 games across all formats. He has an 86.21 winning percentage in T20Is, and his ODI numbers are not that great. However, as a stand-in captain whenever he has played, he has tried to give at least good performances. His fiery century against South Africa was a remarkable one.
Alongside Starc, Matt Renshaw also made a comeback after having a good Australia A series. He last played for Australia in 2023 in a Test against India. Significantly, Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the team. Matt Short and Mitch Owen are the players who also got a call-up.
The Australian management has given rest to Cameron Green for the T20Is, and Glenn Maxwell has missed out with an injury. After this series, Australia will play the Ashes, and for that, the management has tried to manage the workload of players as much as possible. The squad for the first two games of T20Is also includes Nathan Ellis, and Aaron Hardie, who was there last time, has been dropped from the team. After recovering from a calf strain, Josh Inglis has replaced Alex Carey in the T20 squad.
