The Asia Cup has ended after India’s victory over Pakistan. The controversial 2025 season has hit the HL’s again after Australia's men and women players, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Alyssa Healy, and Mitchell Marsh took a dig at India's handshake snub against Pakistan.

The whole controversy started when the Indian T20I side captain Surya Kumar Yadav refused to shake hands with Pakistan’s captain in the toss in the group stage. The controversy reached its peak when the post-match ceremony of the Asia Cup final took a dramatic turn. Suryakumar and the Indian team declined to lift the trophy from ACC and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Following that ACC chairman left the stadium, taking the trophy with him.

Team India will face Australia from 19th October, ahead of the big clash. The remarks by prominent players of Australia sparked debate on the internet. Many think that the remarks were given to play mind games.

This series is going to be special as Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will take on the field after 8 months. The high-voltage rivalry is going to begin on 19th October in Perth. The two youth-staffed teams are ready to face off in three ODIs and five T20Is.

What did the Australian players say?

The video is uploaded by Kayo Sports, which is reportedly a part of a pre-series campaign. In the video, an anchor said, "We all know India is on its way. But we've identified one critical weakness." The anchor added that "We know that they're not huge fans of the traditional greeting (handshake), so we can throw them off before we've even bowled a ball.”

Making an appearance, Mitchell Marsh, the Australian white-ball captain, mockingly said, "finger in the ice cup." Sophie Molineux mocked the Indian team by raising her hand first, then also raised her two middle fingers.

Pacer Josh Hazlewood cheekily joked, “What about the shooter?”

Mitchel Marsh will lead the Kangaroos in this series in the absence of Pat Cummins, who has been suffering from a back injury for a long time.
