Karun Nair and sending strong messages to national selectors have now become rather synonymous. By performing in domestic cricket, he has sent messages to selectors multiple times, whether naming them directly or not.

However, he has also got opportunities in the national team due to his performance, though he couldn't capitalize on them. This time he spoke directly about his performance, addressing the selectors.

Karun Nair got an opportunity in the Test series against England. But even though he got the chance, he couldn't make it count. In the five-match series against England, playing eight innings, he scored only 285 runs.

After that, he didn't get opportunities in the West Indies series or for India A team. And it was certain that he wouldn't get a chance in the national team.

According to a report published in The Times of India, Karun Nair was disappointed after being dropped from the Test team. Despite playing well in domestic cricket for a comeback, he didn't get opportunities. He said in the interview, “It's somewhat disappointing, but I know that with the performance I've delivered in the last two years, I deserve an opportunity. However, opinions on this might differ for many, but personally I feel I deserved something better.”

In the ongoing Ranji Trophy, Karun Nair played an innings of 174 runs for Karnataka against Goa. It was after this that he spoke out. Experts are divided on whether Karun Nair will be given another opportunity or not. One section claims that after eight years, instead of giving Karun Nair a chance for just one series, he should have been played for several more series. Again, many claim that youngsters should be given opportunities instead of Karun Nair.
