Garuda Aerospace, one of India’s leading drone manufacturers, announced on Tuesday that its brand ambassador and investor Mahendra Singh Dhoni has successfully completed his DGCA Drone Pilot Certification Programme. The training took place at the company’s DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) in Chennai, according to reports.
The certification marks Dhoni’s formal entry into India’s growing drone ecosystem, making him one of the first major Indian sports icons to earn a drone pilot license. Garuda Aerospace said the development further strengthens Dhoni’s association with the company beyond his roles as brand ambassador and investor.
MSD took to social media to share his elation. His latest post reads, “Happy to announce that I have completed my DGCA Drone pilot certification program with Garuda Aerospace.”
The Chennai-based startup, which focuses on agricultural and industrial drone solutions, has so far trained over 2,500 aspiring drone pilots through its training centres across the country.
Garuda Aerospace’s founder and CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash congratulated Dhoni, saying his achievement highlights the company’s commitment to skill development and innovation in India’s drone sector.
