Rinku Singh receives threat from Dawood Ibrahim’s gang

Mumbai’s crime branch confirmed that Rinku Singh received a ₹5 Crore Ransom Threat from Dawood Ibrahim’s Gang.

Rinku Singh reportedly received a threat from the underworld. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, the inquiry revealed that the infamous Dawood Ibrahim gang, known as D-Company, sent three ransom demands to Rinku Singh's promotional team from February to April 2025, demanding ₹5 crore.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested two of the main suspects, identified as Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed, who were caught in the West Indies and handed over to Indian authorities on August 1. The accused were detained earlier for demanding ₹10 crore rupees from Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late former MLA Baba Siddiqui. According to a TV9 report, one of them confessed during interrogation that they had called Rinku Singh to demand ransom.

Meanwhile, Indian fans stood beside Rinku, who is known for his humble and grounded character. Earlier this September, Rinku Singh finished the final match of the Asia Cup 2025 by hitting a boundary. He managed to play only one match, the final one, and smashed a four in the last, making India proud.

He played his last T20I match on 2nd February and got a chance in the playing XI in place of Hardik Pandya in the final encounter of the Asia Cup. His finishing ability has been talked about for years; he displayed his fierce power in a match against the Gujarat Titans, where he hit 5 consecutive sixes off Yash Dayal and led KKR to victory. Despite playing his first ball of the tournament in the final over, also in the final game, the boy from Aligarh finished the match with grace.
