Shreyas Iyer admitted to ICU, suffers internal bleeding, after rib injury

India's ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to the hospital. He has been admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Sydney. According to the report, Shreyas suffered internal bleeding. So he was admitted to the ICU without any delay.

He took a catch while fielding in the Sydney match. He injured his left rib as a result of a wrong landing. He collapsed in pain. Immediately, the physio came and picked him up from the field. He was then taken to a local hospital for a checkup. The team returned home from Australia, but Shreyas was unable to return. The BCCI decided to keep him in Sydney for treatment.

According to PTI, Shreyas has been in the hospital for the last few days. According to reports, he suffered internal bleeding. He will be kept under observation for two to seven days. Efforts are being made to prevent him from contracting the infection associated with the blood clots. The board and medical team are not willing to take any risks. His condition is now stable.

After Shreyas Iyer's injury, it was speculated that he would be able to return to the field in three weeks. There was a lot of complexity in the South Africa series. But this time, due to internal bleeding, his chances of returning are going lower. According to the report, Iyer will be kept in a hospital in Sydney for another two weeks. After that, the BCCI will make a decision on him.
