Shorna Akter, the new sensation of the Bangladesh women's cricket team is doing magic in the Women's World Cup. Her trailblazing innings against South Africa took Bangladesh to a respectable total. Her beautiful innings of 51 runs was one of the important innings she has ever played. She struck three sixes in that innings; it was the first time in 14-year ODI history of 81 games of Bangladesh Women's cricket history when someone hit three sixes in an innings. After the South Africa match, Bangladesh captain Nasrin Sultana remarked on her as a capable player. Sultana also added, "I've spoken about her before, she's a powerful hitter and can rotate the strike really well. She used her skills brilliantly today. The way she batted was quite incredible, and she really helped our side reach a good total."
