The next IPL season is still at least six to seven months away. However, franchises have already started organising their teams. The Chennai Super Kings had a disastrous campaign last season and finished at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has left the team. It was being heard that CSK might take Washington Sundar as his replacement. Now, Washi himself has spoken out about this. What did he say?

Recently, bowler Krishnamurthy Vignesh had informed about this in a video on Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel. The 31-year-old bowler from Tamil Nadu had said, "This news is extremely confidential but certain. I have inside information. Washi's arrival in Chennai is practically confirmed. Just as Hardik Pandya joined Mumbai from Gujarat, the same is going to happen in Washington's case." After this video became public, speculation about Washi joining Chennai increased further.

Now Ashwin himself reached out to Washington. Washi himself put an end to all speculation. In response to Ashwin's question about joining Chennai, he said, "Yes, I have heard what Vignesh said. I was even thinking of calling him directly to talk. But the team hasn't informed me about this yet."

Washington has stated that his game has improved after joining the Gujarat franchise. About this, Washi said, "Even though I didn't get opportunities in all matches for Gujarat last season, I enjoyed playing. I got the opportunity to work a lot on both batting and bowling. The practice sessions were excellent."
