Morocco made history by defeating Argentina. They won 2-0 in the FIFA U-20 World Cup final. This African nation tasted World Cup victory for the first time.

After Morocco's victory, 20-year-old footballer Yasir Zabiri has come into the spotlight. He showed dominance not just with his brace in the final, but throughout the entire tournament.

Zabiri scored five goals in seven matches in the U-20 World C up. He scored against Spain and Brazil in the group stage. In the knockout phase, he got his name on the scoresheet against South Korea.

He is Morocco's highest goalscorer in the history of this tournament. Zabiri also received awards for his brilliant performance. He won the Silver Ball. As the World Cup's top scorer, he also won the Golden Boot title. Zabiri will be in the spotlight in the transfer market next season. Big European clubs may pounce to sign him. This nearly 6-foot-tall footballer is comfortable in any attacking position, from striker to wing.

This 20-year-old footballer currently plays for Portuguese club Famalicão. Zabiri is contracted with this club until 2028. However, after such a performance in the World Cup, he could get opportunities at bigger clubs.

Many are seeing Messi's touch in Zabiri's game – brilliant free-kicks, cutting in from the wing into the box, or dribbling in tight spaces. And he himself is a devoted fan of Messi. In a video, he has chosen Messi as the greatest footballer of all time.

It's not just Zabiri's performance, but the entire Morocco team is being praised. They became champions by defeating teams like Brazil, Spain, France, and Argentina. Signs are already emerging that this African nation will rise as a new force in world football in the future.

In 2022, Morocco reached the World Cup semi-final before being knocked out. Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, and En-Nesyri had caught attention. The proof that their next generation is also ready has been given by Yasir Zabiri and Othman Mamma.
