Dimitri Petratos, the prominent striker for Mohun Bagan Super Giants, is set to play in the first match of the IFA Shield. The Australian superstar has been in the news recently due to rumours of a rift between him and coach Molina, and it was also speculated that he is going to depart from Bagan. However, putting an end to all these rumours, Dimi will take the field today against United Sports.

According to sources, Dimi was not fit to play the matches, which is why he was warming the bench in the last few days, but the Aussie striker is now fit to play the match alongside Jason Cummings.

What happened between Dimitri and Molina?

The rumours about Dimitri and Molina started to arise when Dimitri engaged in a heated conversation with coach Molina in the AFC Champions League 2 match. Some viral videos showed Dimi arguing heatedly with the coach, and many claimed that the Aussie striker was upset with Molina for not including him in that match.

After the incident, Petratos posted a picture on his official Instagram account and captioned it, “Only love and believe.” In the photo, he can be seen with his hands folded in a thank-you gesture. The photo sparked rumours among fans, and a section of Mohun Bagan supporters also started to claim that Petratos was about to leave the club.

However, putting an end to the speculations, Dimi Petratos is now back on the field and ready to give some magical moments in the Mohun Bagan Jersey. Mohun Bagan needs to draw today's match to reach the finals, where East Bengal will be waiting for them on October 18.
