In the NBA, a triple-double occurs when a player registers double-digit numbers in three statistical categories in a single game, most commonly points, rebounds and assists. It represents a measure of versatility and all-around dominance. While scoring remains central to basketball, the triple-double reflects a player’s ability to influence multiple facets of the game, whether through playmaking, rebounding, or defensive contributions such as steals and blocks.

All-time leaders in career triple-doubles

Russell Westbrook holds the all-time NBA record with 207 regular-season triple-doubles, redefining statistical consistency in the modern era. Close behind is Nikola Jokic, who has rapidly climbed the leaderboard with 184 and counting, showcasing elite playmaking from the centre position.

The leaderboard also features iconic names such as Magic Johnson, who scored 138 times, and Jason Kidd, scoring 107, both renowned for orchestrating offences with vision and control.
