Mike Tomlin has recently emerged as a top contender for the New York Giants’ head coach position after Ian O’Connor described him as the perfect replacement for Brian Daboll. ESPN’s Mike Greenberg also named him as a strong possibility.

But during a conversation with 93.7 The Fan, Mike Florio explained that such a scenario is highly unlikely, as the Pittsburgh Steelers have no intention of letting Tomlin go. Florio noted, “I don’t know that I’d say less than one percent (chance of Steelers parting ways with Tomlin). I think the Giants should sweep as broadly as possible on putting together a list and consider the possibility.” He further added, “Teams don’t spend enough time considering the possibility to try and trade for a coach.”

According to Florio and other insiders, that outcome is extremely improbable. The team is not planning to move on from him, though a major setback, such as issues involving Aaron Rodgers-could shift the situation, especially with rising pressure from frustrated fans.

If Tomlin were ever to become available, Florio believes several teams would show interest, largely because he brings consistency and regular playoff contention.

As reported by Bolavip, Tomlin shared, “There’s always going to be a team out there that would be happy to have what the Steelers have had for the last 20 years or close to it. Contention every year. Playoffs most years. That’s better than what other teams experience.”

He also added,“I think there would be somebody out there who’s looking for a coach that would e. interested. I think he will have options if he and the steelers decide that’s it’s time to move on, but, I don’t think it would be half the league to try to get him at this point.”
