OpenAI has introduced a new subscription plan, ChatGPT Go, for ₹399 a month in India, with a vision to price its high-quality AI tools within reach. The new plan falls between the free plan and the paid ChatGPT Plus plan, which costs ₹1,999 a month.

ChatGPT Go

ChatGPT Go provides access to OpenAI's latest GPT-5 model and features such as file upload, image generation, and sophisticated data analysis functionalities. The plan is also available through both the ChatGPT mobile app and WhatsApp, thereby reaching more people.

ChatGPT Plus

At the same time, ChatGPT Plus's subscription, which is far more expensive, is rich in features. Deep Research and Agent Mode for advanced tasks, access to older models such as GPT-4, and integration with Gmail, Notion, GitHub, Canva, and Microsoft Teams are available to Plus users. Sora, OpenAI's text-to-video model, and greater usage limits for seamless access are also included in the subscription.

Free Plan

For the general users, the Free plan is still available. The free plan now includes GPT-5 but with restricted usage, according to the report. It still provides the most popular features of image creation, ChatGPT Voice, and real-time web search.

Industry analysts propose that OpenAI's three-tier system provides clean segmentation: the free version for casual browsing, Go for students and light users who want more features at a lower cost, and for professionals who need the premium tools and integrations. With ChatGPT Go, OpenAI seems to be aiming at India's fast-expanding digital user base with an affordable choice that is cost-effective and streamlined, and keeping its most sophisticated features for the Plus plan, the report added.
