Fortnite is bringing The Simpsons into the mix. Epic Games has officially announced a new live event that will usher in a Simpsons-themed mini-season, complete with an island-wide takeover by Kang and Kodos, the tentacled aliens from the show’s iconic ‘Treehouse of Horror’ episodes.

Fortnite’s current Shock 'N Awesome season has been buzzing with eerie Fortnitemares content. But now, the mood is shifting from horror to hilarity.

“It’s time for something a bit less serious in its scares, and something a bit more light-hearted,” Fortnite teased in its announcement.

Fortnite X Simpsons: Release date and time

Fortnite’s official Twitter handle noted the live event will go live on Saturday, November 1, at 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 3 p.m. GMT. The announcement was accompanied by a cinematic clip featuring Jonesy and Hope and a cryptic message suggesting that Kang and Kodos are about to “assert their rule over the island.”

Notably, notorious Fortnite leaker @Hypex added that following the live event, there will be around five hours of downtime before the mini-season officially launches. That means players can expect the new content to drop by 2 p.m. PDT / 5 p.m. EDT / 9 p.m. GMT.
