Nissan is gearing up to make its comeback in the Indian market. After the launch of the Nissan Magnite, the company took a break from the Indian market. On Tuesday, the company revealed the design of its new launch, the new C-SUV, Nissan Tekton. According to NDTV, it will be a top-tier car that will rank above the Magnite in the company’s lineup. The car will officially go on the market by Q2 2026.
What can we expect from Nissan Tekton?
According to NDTV, Nissan has only unveiled the Tekton's design; other than that, the company has yet to disclose any information regarding the models and specs. Though it seems that a variety of powertrain options like NA petrol, turbo-petrol, and hybrid power variants will be there, the car will possibly compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Victoris as it will take the place of the Magnite in the company's lineup.
A bold new design
According to Nissan, the car will be heavily inspired by the flagship Patrol SUV. It will have an upright flat bonnet on the front fascia, enhanced by a horizontal light bar that runs between the headlamps. The bumper is also boldly designed. The 'TEKTON' logo will be located on the bonnet, similar to how Land Rover SUVs do.
Additionally, the sides will feature flared wheel arches, which will provide muscle to the car's upright stance. To give the car a clearer appearance, the rear door handles are set on the pillar rather than the usual location. The powerful styling is carried over to the rear taillamps, sharing a resemblance with the Nissan Patrol.
According to Autocar, the teaser image revealed that the Tekton's dashboard will have three different tones: a copper-colored strip that runs from the center infotainment screen to the side AC vents, soft-touch materials on the top, and glossy black for the rest of the surfaces.
It is also anticipated that the car will be based on petrol only.
