An unusual entry in Air India’s cabin logbook has taken the internet by storm. A crew member on a Delhi–Dubai flight recorded in log that a “live cockroach” spotted mid-air had been “hanged until death.”
Dated October 24, 2025, the note has gone viral, leaving netizens both amused and slightly concerned about the airline’s in-flight hygiene, as Delhi-Dubai is one of its busiest international routes.
An X post of a logbook from an Air India flight from Delhi to Dubai has gone viral on the internet recently. It was posted by an aviation journalist, Jagriti Chandra, as mentioned in her profile.
It shows an entry in the aircraft’s cabin defect logbook, noting that a passenger on the same flight had spotted a cockroach inside the plane. And as per the rule, the cabin crew had noted down the complaint filed by that passenger in the logbook, along with a solution that was taken by the aircraft authorities.
The logbook says, “Cockroach found alive by guest – cockroach hanged to until death”. This note went viral on social media.
Jagriti Chandra captioned this, “An entry in Air India’s cabin defect log recorded that a live cockroach was discovered by a passenger. The rectification note wryly mentioned that the matter was dealt with… conclusively. Khalaas, Dubai style.”
Netizens react
One user on the thread asked, “I want to know if the body was surrendered to the family or not.” Another wrote, “Perhaps the right SOP would have been..., Catering Informed”, One replied to this, “Body handed over to catering as family not traceble.”
One wrote that, “AME needs a promotion just for his sense of humour!”, One asked, “did they use tea bag strings to hang?”
Another user commented, “More interesting and truthful than the normal bollox in an Air India logbook.”
The peculiar phrasing by Air India logbook has sparked a flurry of humorous remarks with users arguing over whether a cockroach should be ‘executed’ or just ‘squashed’. They want justice for the cockroach's family.
