Krasznahorkai wins Nobel Prize in Literature 2025

Hungarian novelist László Krasznahorkai has won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature for his compelling and visionary oeuvre.

Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai has been awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature, the Swedish Academy announced on Thursday. The prize awarded by the Swedish Academy is worth 11 million crown.

Mats Malm, the Permanent Secretary at the Swedish Academy said, “The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2025 is awarded to the Hungarian author László Krasznahorkai for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art.”
