Varun Suresh, an Indian-origin-man, has been accused of fatally stabbing 71-year-old David Brimer in California. Brimer had multiple allegations of child sexual abuse against him. Varun attacked him on Tuesday. Police arrested Suresh on the spot, and during interrogation, he allegedly confessed without remorse, stating, “I enjoyed it.”
According to California police, Suresh had obtained Brimer’s address through the Megan’s Law public database. The report says he confronted Brimer at his home, pressuring him to admit his alleged crimes. When Brimer denied the accusations, Suresh allegedly stabbed him in the back.
Brimer, though gravely injured, tried to escape. Suresh is said to have chased him down, pulled him from his vehicle, and slit his throat. Neighbors who witnessed the brutal assault immediately informed the police. Despite efforts to save him, Brimer succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators claim Suresh told them he saw it as his “duty” to punish child abusers and believed people would support his actions. He allegedly told officers, “I’ve wanted to kill for a long time. These people hurt children. They deserve death.”
This isn’t Suresh’s first encounter with the law. He has previously faced charges of theft and was once accused of making false bomb threats.
