Teenager dies in tragic accident after falling from roof onto electric wire

A 16-year-old boy tragically died after falling from a rooftop and coming into contact with live electrical wires in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, on the night of Dashami.

On the night of Dashami, a teenager met a tragic end after being electrocuted. The incident occurred in Gabindapur, Baruipur, in South 24 Parganas. On Thursday night, 16-year-old Bachchu Mondal was standing on the roof of a sweetshop owner's house in the area, engaged in conversation. Suddenly, the teenager fell from the roof.

Local residents report that as he fell, the teenager landed on a live electric wire below. He was instantly electrocuted. Hearing the screams and commotion, locals rushed to the scene. The teenager was rescued and taken to Baruipur Sub-divisional Hospital. There, doctors pronounced him dead. Locals claim that the teenager was the sole breadwinner of his family.

Bachchu Mondal's home is in the Nalgora area of Kultali, South 24 Parganas. A few months ago, he came to Gabindapur, Baruipur, to search for a job. He had been working at a sweetshop there and was living at the shop owner's house.

Sources report that after dinner, he went up to the roof. Bachchu was talking to someone on the phone. At that time, he either slipped or lost his balance and fell. It was then that he came into contact with an electric wire below. The police have begun investigating the entire incident. They are examining the safety measures on the house's roof and how secure the electrical connections are. Bachchu's family in Kultali has been informed. The police have stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
