The Election Commission of India has declared the schedule for the 2025 Bihar Election.. After that, Bengal is now the main focus. Ahead of the elections, Special Intensive Revision (SIR) preparations have already started. To examine the final SIR preparations, a special Election Commission team is in the state.

Chief Electoral Officer Manojkumar Agarwal, Deputy Election Commissioner in charge of this state, Gyanesh Bharti, DG of the Commission's Information Technology division, Seema Khanna, Secretary S.B. Joshi and Under Secretary Abhinav Agarwal were present at the Chief Electoral Officer's office in Kolkata.

A question has already been raised regarding the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) in Rajarhat-Gopalpur. The ERO of Rajarhat-Gopalpur is already under scrutiny for allegations of adding names to the voter list without verifying information. They were also summoned to the state Chief Electoral Officer's office. Now the special team from Delhi will sit separately with the election officials there.
After this, the Commission team will go to the District Magistrate's office in Barasat. There will be discussions on North 24 Parganas. Since it is a large district with multiple assembly constituencies and Lok Sabha constituencies, preparations there will be reviewed separately. Along with North 24 Parganas, special attention is being given to East Midnapore, Bankura and Jhargram.
On Thursday, discussions will be held in East Midnapore, Bankura, Jhargram at the Kolaghat Auditorium.
