Finally, the mystery of the IT worker's disappearance has been solved. On Tuesday, IT worker Mainak Das, who had come to Kolkata from Bengaluru, was found in Santoshpur, Kolkata. On November 1, Mainak's girlfriend Suparna Dutta Chowdhury, had filed a complaint at Narayanpur police station under Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, stating that her friend Mainak had gone missing after going to withdraw money from an ATM.

Suparna also raised allegations of harassment against the police. This was because she could file the complaint at Narayanpur police station only late at night, after visiting Eco Park and Baguiati police station.

During the investigation, police learned that both Mainak from Kolkata's Survey Park area and Suparna from Asansol-Durgapur work at IT companies in Bengaluru. They have been in a live-in relationship for seven years.

However, Mainak alleged that Suparna tortured him in every way. From his ATM card to all banking access, everything was in his girlfriend's control. He even had to take his girlfriend's permission to smoke. Being a victim of such continuous mental torture, Mainak planned and left the guest house in New Town last Saturday. He said he was going to withdraw money from the ATM.

After that, he voluntarily went 'missing'. When police traced him on Tuesday, he provided this information through an undertaking at Narayanpur police station.
