Kolkata Metro to run special Blue and Green Line services on Sunday for police recruitment exam

Kolkata Metro will operate additional trains on the Blue and Green Lines starting from 7 a.m. on Sunday to accommodate commuters for the West Bengal Police recruitment examination.

Kolkata Metro Rail will run special services on Sunday due to the state police recruitment examination. Additional trains will be operated on both the Blue and Green lines. Metro operations will start from 7 AM on those lines that day. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board examination.

Blue and Green Line schedule

On the Blue line, regular Metro operations usually start from 9 AM on Sundays. However, due to the state police recruitment examination on Sunday (October 12), Metro operations will start from 7 AM instead of 9 AM on this line. While 130 trains normally run on this line on other days, 138 trains will be operated that day, including up and down services. On the Green line too, Metro operations will start from 7 AM. 112 trains will be run that day instead of 104.

Kolkata Metro Rail has announced that the timing of the last train departure will remain unchanged that day. However, from 7 AM to 9 AM, Metro will run at 30-minute intervals on the up and down lines.

Train operation timings on Blue Line

Kolkata Metro Rail has announced that on Sunday, the first Metro from Noapara to Shahid Khudiram will run at 7 AM. And the first Metro from Shahid Khudiram to Dakshineswar will start at 7:04 AM instead of 9:04 AM, and the first Metro from Dakshineswar to Shahid Khudiram will start at 7:20 AM instead of 9 AM.

However, there is no change in the timing of the last Metro departure.

Train operation timings on Green Line

On the Green line too, on Sunday, October 12, there is no change in the timing of the last Metro departure.

On this day, the first Metro from Howrah Maidan to Saltlake Sector 5 will start from 7 AM instead of 9 AM. On the other hand, the train from Saltlake Sector 5 to Howrah Maidan will depart at 7:02 AM instead of 9:02 AM.

On that day, Metro will run on the Yellow line following normal timings. However, since it's Sunday, Metro Rail service will remain closed on the Orange and Purple lines that day.
