A major fire broke out on Thursday morning at a car parts warehouse on R.N. Mukherjee Road, just a few hundred metres from Lalbazar in central Kolkata.

As per the reports, the fire started around 10:30 am at 21, R.N. Mukherjee Road, located on the ground floor of a three-storey building. Thick black smoke billowed out of the warehouse, triggering panic among locals and officegoers in the area.

Multiple tenders were rushed to the spot immediately, and another was later deployed as thick smoke reduced visibility and delayed the operations.

Preliminary reports suggest a possible short circuit. No casualties have been reported so far.
