The Sealdah Railway Division made some major announcements before Kali Puja, including the experimental deployment of AC trains at Ashoknagar, Belgharia, and other stations. Sealdah-Ranaghat AC Local and Sealdah-Bangaon-Ranaghat AC Local have both had their additional stoppages extended by one month. AC locals will give stoppages at more stations for the next month, starting today, October 15.
Since September 15, the Sealdah-Bangaon-Ranaghat AC local has been operating a one-month trial at stations such as Chandpara, Machhalandapur, Ashoknagar, Bira, and Birati. Now, the additional stops have been extended for an additional month.
The Bangaon-Sealdah section's AC locals will therefore stop at Bidhannagar Road, Dum Dum Junction, Dum Dum Cantt., in addition to the trial stations listed above, Madhyamgram, Barasat, Dattapukur, Habra, Gobardanga, Thakurnagar, and Bangaon.
Additionally, to provide passengers with relief before Kali Puja, the Sealdah-Ranaghat AC local will continue to make stops at Bidhannagar Road, Dum Dum Junction, Sodpur, Khardah, Barrackpore, Naihati, Kanchrapara, Kalyani, Chakdah, Ranaghat, Belgharia, and Shyamnagar for an additional month.
Kali Puja special schedule
Eastern Railway announced a Sealdah Division press briefing on 20.10.2025 (Kali Puja/ Monday). All suburban services, including 6 AC locals, will follow the weekday schedule and additional special services at night are arranged towards Naihati and Barasat to clear extra rush.
From 20.10.2025 to 24.10.2025, no trains will operate from Platform No. 1 at Naihati after 1 p.m., and Naihati locals will use Platform No. 5 instead of Platform No. 6. EMU special trains will stop at all stations along the route, including Flag and Half stations.
Notably, all ticket booking counters at Sealdah station will remain open 24/7 to manage the increased passenger rush.
Other than these, Sealdah-Gangasagar Express, Uttarbanga Express, Kanchankanya Express, and Malda Gour Express won’t stop at Bidhannagar Road Station.
At crowded stations like Sealdah, Naihati, Kolkata Bidhannagar, and Krishnanagar, "MAY I HELP YOU" booths will be set up. Barrackpore Barasat, Dumdum Jn, etc. For emergency assistance, designated helpline numbers and a list of crucial phone numbers (police, hospitals, and fire departments) will be shown.
Sealdah Division also shared the passenger regulation plan during Diwali and Chhath 2025 at Sealdah Station.
Exit gate for passengers
Passengers of platforms no. 1 to 5 coming from local trains / MEMU exit from Prafulla Dwar.
Passengers of Platform no. 6 to 10 will use from North Gate, South Gate, South Metro Gate and Parcel Gate
For non-suburban passengers, part of the parking area will be used as a holding zone, with access to the platform permitted only when the train arrives.
