During the operations conducted in Nadia and Howrah, Bengal STF has apprehended four persons in relation to drug trafficking, along with two vehicles used for the transportation of the drugs.

Nadia drug bust

In Nadia district's Plassey, the STF team conducted an operation on Tuesday, October 7. The operation was conducted after a tip-off about the delivery of illicit substances. The STF team caught the two drug traffickers red-handed during the handover of 1kg of heroin from Nadia's Palashi Para. The arrested are - a resident of Nadia's Kaliganj village, 53-year-old Hafijul Sikari, and a resident of Palashi Para village, 63-year-old Jibrail Mondal. An Alto and a WagonR were seized during the operation. While a detailed investigation is on the way to unravel the widespread trafficking network, the STF has already registered a case at the STF HQ Police station under the NDPS Act, according to a Bhaskar English report.

Drug raid at Dankuni station

The report from Bhaskar English also included, two other individuals were apprehended during another drug bust at the Dankuni Railway Station based on secret intel. One is Murshidabad's Hariharpara resident, 64-year-old Mahirul Biswas, and the other is Jharkhand's East Singhbhum resident, 66-year-old Abid Pervez.

The report stated that initial interrogation revealed the source of the confiscated 1.8kg contraband to be in Nagaland's Dimapur, and the arrested individuals were intending to deliver it to Kolkata.

While the Bengal STF has initiated detailed investigations to unearth the exact source of the contrabands, two separate cases have been lodged at the Belur GRPS and STF HQ Police station, a Bhaskar English report stated.
