The Kolkata Police have arrested two persons from Odisha in connection with the recovery of a man's body from a box bed at a hotel in Park Street. The accused have been identified as Satish Behera and Shaktikanta Behera. Joint CP (Anti-Crime) Rupesh Kumar told reporters at a press conference in Lalbazar on Thursday that the youth was killed in a scuffle between the two sides.
On October 24, the body of a 25 or 26-year-old man was found in a hotel room at 66 Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road. The body was kept inside the box. After getting information, the police from Park Street police station rushed to the spot. There were clear murder marks on the body when the body was recovered. The Detective Branch of Lalbazar took over the investigation. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Lal.

According to the police, Shaktikanta Behera owns a plastic flower business in Odisha. Shaktikanth and his partner Satish came to Kolkata to buy the items. Buy those things from the big market and go out to travel. Rahul met at the Victoria Memorial premises.
Rahul Lal had said that the accused should be taken to Kolkata. After that, the three went to a hotel on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road. They had alcohol and food. The accused told the police that Rahul pulled out a knife and threatened Shaktikant and his accomplice at the hotel. He also tried to loot. That's when the scuffle began. Rahul collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness. Shaktikanta then allegedly strangled him to death by wrapping a towel around his neck.

Soon after, Shaktikanth and his accomplice left the hotel with Rahul's body in the box bed of the hotel. The next morning, he took a train from Howrah to Cuttack. But they couldn’t escape; they were arrested in Odisha. They were brought to Kolkata on transit remand and produced before the court on Thursday.
