A group of individuals had booked a room in a hotel located at the heart of central Kolkata. On Friday morning, they checked into the room. Upon entering the room, they noticed a foul smell. After they informed the hotel authorities, the hotel staff attempted everything, ranging from giving room fresheners to cleaning the whole room thoroughly. The smell persisted. In the end, they summoned the hotel staff to the room again. The employees were also puzzled and chose to search the room. Out of curiosity, when they investigated the box bed, everyone present was horrified - a corpse was hidden inside the bed. The event took place on Friday at a hotel located on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road.
The police were informed promptly, and they arrived on the spot to retrieve the body, which had already been sent for post-mortem examination. It has been discovered that the deceased's name was Rahul Lal. Three young men checked into the hotel on the 22nd, at about 5 PM, reporting that they had reserved the room for a quick rest. One of them departed the room shortly after the reservation and returned at 11:20 PM. The other two then departed the hotel, leaving Rahul behind.
